Protempis RES SMT 360 Multi-GNSS Timing Module

Miniature Multi-GNSS Timing Module with Super-Sized Features

Ideal for Low Signal Environment
Protempis designed the RES SMT 360™ Timing Module to work in the most demanding weak signal environments, including femtocells and in-building systems. With its robust performance in low signal environments, users can save on expensive cabling and externally mounted antennas. In addition, the RES SMT 360™ timing module accepts aiding data for environments requiring the highest levels of enhanced sensitivity.

PPS and Frequency Outputs
The RES SMT 360™ timing module outputs a precise1 pulse-per-second (1PPS) and 10 MHz frequency to maximise your network performance and synchronise systems at a global level. Custom frequencies are also available for volume sale.

Standard Timing Features
The RES SMT 360™ timing module includes many of Trimble’s standard timing features, including TimeReceiver Autonomous Integrity Monitoring (T-RAIM) algorithm, automatic self-survey, and GNSS disciplining of the oscillator to provide an accurate frequency reference.

Carrier Board and Starter Kit Options
The RES SMT 360™ timing module can be loaded directly onto the customer’s application board.
The Starter Kit provides everything you need to evaluate the RES SMT 360™ timing module, including the RES SMT 360™ on a carrier board, AC/DC power converter, antenna and USB interface cable.

Protempis offers an existing line up of GNSS timing modules that provides GNSS receiver and PRTC function to be integrated with network equipment. Protempis’s ICM 720 and RES 720 GNSS receivers provide a dual band multi-constellation secured resilient timing and act as primary reference time clock (PRTC) for precision time distribution in a network. It is the key component to receive and convert the UTC time from GNSS signals. The RES 720 GNSS receiver combines PRTC and LNA (low noise amplifier) circuits as an external standalone device or as an internal board or module, and the ICM 720 also offers a programable 10 MHz frequency output.

Additionally, Protempis offers a GNSS receiver integrated with the antenna into an IP67 weatherproof enclosure. Protempis’s Acutime 360 product provides the UTC traceability output in the form of 1PPS and TOD signals to a device requiring UTC time that is up to 1 km from the deployment site.

Protempis also engages with customers to develop custom GNSS receiver solutions. Our GNSS custom receivers and Acutime solutions are used by world’s leading networking and Base Station equipment manufacturers. Protempis’s GNSS receivers timing modules make it easier for OEM suppliers to develop their own solutions for 5G, Autonomous Vehicles and Smart Grid environments.

Protempis’s RES SMT 360™ module is a multi-GNSS (GPS, GLONASS, BEIDOU and Galileo) timing receiver. The RES SMT 360 is designed to provide a precise time pulse for the synchronisation of 4G/5G base stations, or other systems requiring a precise pulse-per-second (PPS) output. Its 19x19mm surface-mount package makes it ideal for embedding into your host solution.

When operating in Over-Determined Timing Mode, the accuracy of pulse per second (PPS) is within 15 nanoseconds of GNSS/UTC. The RES SMT 360™ timing module includes many of Protempis’s standard timing features, including Timing Receiver Autonomous Integrity Monitor (TRAIM) algorithm, automatic self-survey, and GNSS disciplining of the oscillator to provide an accurate frequency reference.
